"When i was little I wanted to be either a ballerina or an artist." And, although we haven’t seen Julia Rothman do a pirouette or a plié, we’re glad she became an artist. She has an uncanny ability to capture the nostalgia in even the simplest of objects, like vintage kitchen tools, clocks, shoes, school supplies, typewriters or even cruiser bikes. The illustrated robots on her Robo-Bedding Set are a perfect example of this. "My mother collects toys from the 1950s... I guess some of that admiration for the simple, colorful design of the toys of that era has rubbed off on me."
