To describe Peter Himmelman as a children’s musician would be like calling Ben Franklin an inventor. It’s just one of Himmelman’s many notable talents. Himmelman is also a critically acclaimed adult musician and a Hollywood composer, scoring network TV shows such as "Bones" and "Men in Trees." Lately, Himmelman has been dabbling in spoken word performances. Himmelman’s many talents are on display in his "Nodcast Podcast." Check it out and then pick up his latest kids’ release, "My Green Kite."

Watch Peter’s video for the song “Theo,” from his CD “My Lemonade Stand.” The video is a dog. Or, rather, it’s about a dog.

My Green Kite
Peter Himmelman’s fourth family recording, “My Green Kite,” showcases Himmelman’s sense of humor and his notable ability to see things from a kid’s point of view. In “Maybe is a Bad Word,” Himmelman remembers just how annoying the word “maybe” can be when it’s uttered by an adult. In “My Father’s an Accountant.” Himmelman explores the feelings of a kid who has a dad with a boring profession. It’s all done with tongue-in-cheek and a wink and a nudge to the adults, yet with themes that connect with kids of all ages. Of course, Himmelman’s penchant for a good pop hook doesn’t hurt either.
