Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy Classic This is one of the best purchases that I have made in awhile! It is super sturdy and the pieces are smooth to the touch. They are thick enough that fallen pieces can easily be recovered, instead of lost forever. Thank you, Land of Nod!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A family favorite We absolutely love this puzzle. The pieces are smooth and heavy, and the overall quality is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice wooden puzzle! This is beautifully made toy. I personally disagree with it needing color. My girls, 3 and 4, love this puzzle regardless! The abbreviated names are OK, I prefer the whole name of the state on each piece (I understand it wouldn't fit). We love this!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality I bought this for my 3 year old nephew knowing it would be a gift he could grow in to. While he's still a little young for it, it's a great learning tool. His parents will use it to tell stories about where his aunts and uncles live in all the different states.2 things I wish were different - I wish there were the capital names under the piece and I wish there were outlines under each piece.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Expensive, but nice... Yes, the price is a bit over-the-top on this, but then I can't imagine cutting out all the wonky shapes with a jigsaw either. Nice quality and a great way for kids to learn the shapes instead of just looking at a printed map (or coloring in a map). Utilizing another sense (tactile) is a great way to improve learning. My ONE suggestion, figure out how to print the state capital onto the base of the board…that would be perfect!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Puzzle Pieces are the Exact Shape of the STATE!! Not only is this a fun toy, but it also brings the states alive and really teaches them how every state fits into the USA!!  This is a must buy for every parent out there! My only gripe is that I wish it had color to attract a child's attention more.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Looks nice but lacks the basic features... Would be perfect, if the actual state name was on top of puzzle pieces, and abbreviations under it. As well the capitals for each state. Not so much worried about color pieces. As it stands right now, this is useless for teaching spelling or capital of states. If smaller puzzles can do this, whats the hold up for not doing it on this expensive item?

Rated 2 out of 5 by from puzzle I think this puzzle is over needs COLOR to capture the kiddo's attention.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Needs color and capitals I had a similar puzzle when I was a kid. I've been searching for the same puzzle for my daughter. This puzzle seems nice and well-made but I wish the states were in color and had the state capital printed on the other side of the puzzle piece.
