Rated 5 out of 5 by momof3 from Best Castle I FoundMy son wanted a castle for his birthday and after searching all over online I decided this one was the best product and best price. We are very happy with it. It's very solid and nicely made, the wood is smooth, and the size fits perfectly with the knight and dragon (also purchased from LON) and with existing knights we already had. I love the drawbridge feature and the two flights of stairs which can be positioned anywhere you want. There is plenty of scope for the imagination! My 5-year-old insisted on sleeping with this in his range of sight as soon as he got it. :)If I could improve two things about this product, I'd have a mechanism for keeping the portcullis up once it's raised (if you want it out, you just have to remove it fully and set it out of the way), and I am also considering using some kind of glue to keep the pieces together. They can sometimes slide apart during play--nothing too terrible as they fit back together easily, but glue might be the way to go if my son continues to be frustrated by it.One other note: the string that raises and lowers the drawbridge gets tangled up sometimes, but is pretty easy to untangle; it requires adult help at our house, though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kaper from Great but disapointedI bought this castle for my 5 year old daughter for Christmas 2013. The thing we love most is that the walls easily pull a part for storage and creating your own castle. The thing we dislike is that on one of the castle walls the wood layers are pulling apart and its only Feb 2014.

Rated 2 out of 5 by julialjohnson3 from I would choose a different castle.I love the way this looks, but it really just isn't working for us. It is being used intermittently by my 3, 5 and 7 year old boys. The pegs that are supposed to lock it all together won't hold at all, so it all falls apart at the slightest push. Pretty frustrating for my boys. It mostly sits in pieces in the corner of the room, unless I encourage them to put it together. Also, the drawbridge looks super cool and functions fine until the strings get tangled up under the twisting handle (that draws the bridge up) and it doesn't open all the way. Then it's my job to untangle it. I do love the knights and horses, all the Papo figures are high quality. I'd return or exchange it but of course I didn't save the receipt or packaging. I'm considering permanently gluing it together and hoping it doesn't get knocked so hard it breaks...
