Rated 5 out of 5 by from Favorite of baby toys Of all of the match the shapes toys, this is the best. Not too many shapes, easy to hold, durable, use the blocks and box for building. This and a good stacker are among my faves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great basic toy This sturdy set is a favorite of our baby, even though she's not old enough to sort shapes. Since the sorting lid comes off it is good to use for practicing putting the blocks in the box. The box is often stuffed with other toys, or turned upside down to beat on like a drum. She will use it for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely Little Shape Sorter We have played with this sweet little shape sorter with both of our sons. It is simple, has soft rounded edges and the shape pieces feel good in your hands. When dropped through the openings and into the box below the shapes make a not unpleasing "plunk" sound so you won't tire from hearing it over and over.We purchased this for our family and right around the same time were gifted a much more complicated (and also confusing and frustrating) shape sorter made by a different mainstream wood toy manufacturer. We noticed that up to two years old our son enjoyed playing with this simple Land of Nod version better and we ended up getting rid of the other more complicated version from the other manufacturer. In this case, simpler was definitely better, and more fun.As a bonus, we found ourselves using the blocks and the box for other play too. Sometimes we would put a silk or cloth in the bottom of the box to change the sounds of the blocks falling into the box. A fun toy all around! We have now put this into the box to save for the grandkids (whenever that happens!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Colorful and Well Made At nine months, our daughter is a little young to fully benefit from this toy, but she loves the colorful shapes. When she is not chewing on them, she likes seeing them disappear into the box, only to magically reappear when I take off the lid. I'm looking forward to seeing her grow into using this toy to its full potential! In the meantime, the box and the blocks are very well made and look like they will last a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a work of art This sorting toy is so well-made that it could almost be considered art! The corners are smooth and the (safe) paint is vibrant. I much prefer this over plastic toys and lesser-quality wooden toys. However, it is pricey for a toy that will only be used for a short period, hence the 4 stars.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good toy for a 12 month this toy is a good toy to have for your 12 month-ish baby. the fact that the shapes have different colors, makes this toy an interactive toy. There are many ways to play with it. My son fill in the wood bin and empty again. We played stacking too! The only drawback that I found in this toy is that the yellow moves frequently when my son was trying to figure it our the shapes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Great for teaching shapes It took a little while for my daughter to get going on this one (except the circle that one was the easiest) The one thing I would recommend on this particular toy is a slide in/out panel. My daughter just wants to pull off the yellow lid to put the shapes back in the box- if the yellow piece slid in and out of something securing it that would make her pulling off the lid a little harder. But great quality.
